My Red Socks Run for Kidney Health

This October, I’m going to Red Socks Run as life depends on it.

I’m running in memory of my beautiful Mumma, Rosemary who passed away from kidney disease in 2020 after nine years on dialysis.

By running, walking, or riding 60km I want to raise awareness of the 60hrs that people like Mum affected by kidney disease need to spend on dialysis each month.

Please donate to my page to raise funds for research into life-saving treatments, and provide support to the families of the 66 Australians that lose their life each day to kidney disease.

YOU can make a difference – Join me and help create a future where kidney health is a priority for all Australians.

My Updates

First Day!

Sunday 1st Oct
Day One of the Red Socks Run for 2023, and we’re off to a bumpy, crumbly start!
I registered 2 km, but actually need to update that to 3, as SJ and I had a surprise hike through a gravel “carpark” in Jarrahdale, which was a little bit hairy, as well as an impromptu trek through the Armadale shops (marginally less so!)
A gentle reminder to myself to not wear crocs when walking anywhere with gravel where it may also rain!
As always, thinking of my dear Mumma, Rosemary, who bravely fought kidney disease for 20 years, the last nine being on weekly dialysis.
