We are raising money to improve the lives of kids living with kidney disease.
We’re driving through the outback to help kids living with kidney disease.
And we need your support! A heart-felt “thank you” to everyone who’s supported us so far.
Our Story
Growing up with kidney failure was tough. When I was diagnosed at the age of two, there were no support programs or activities for kids like me. As I watched the other kids play outside, I’d ask myself: “Why me?”. I wanted to be outside, having fun and being a kid. Not stuck in the hospital again, and again, and again.
It was no better for my parents Edna and Ashley. The medical system wasn’t built to support them or their chronically ill child, with many treatments seeming experimental or lacking health guidance specifically for kids. There were no Facebook groups or AI chatbots to turn to for help. My parents were my fiercest advocates, questioning everything and relentlessly searching for better answers. Without that determination, my story would be very different.
The Kidney Kar Rally
The Kidney Kar Rally is a fund-raising event that supports the critical needs of children & families experiencing kidney failure via the Kidney 4 Youth Program:
· A camp for families to connect, share, and where kids can be kids.
· Peer support and mentoring from people with lived experience.
· Trusted resources to help manage diagnosis, treatments, and life with kidney disease
Families today don’t have to feel alone and lost for answers like we did.
Why it Matters to Us
The Kidney Kar Rally isn’t just a fundraiser for Dad and I; it’s a way of honouring our lives shaped by kidney failure and bringing the experience full circle. We are united in this project.
