We are raising money to improve the lives of kid’s living with kidney disease.

The Kidney Kar Rally helps support Kidney Health Australia by raising funds for the Kidney Health 4 Youth Program.

Kidney disease affects people young and old and living with kidney disease can be particularly hard for kids. Children with Chronic Kidney Disease or kidney failure face many physical, emotional and psychological challenges, that can include feelings of isolation, behavioural and learning problems, delayed skills development and a negative self-image.

The Kidney Health 4 Youth Program provides young people opportunities to connect with others like them through a series of activities, designed to build strong support networks, strengthen feelings of belonging and community, develop confidence and self-esteem that will help them manage their condition. While also providing access to trustworthy and age-appropriate information and resources to empower and help them to live well with kidney disease.

Kidney Health 4 Youth Program activities include:

• Kidney Kids Es-Capers: A weekend camp for kidney kids and their families to connect with other families, share valuable experiences, create lifelong friendships and have fun at the same time.
• Kidney Youth Champions: providing Peer Support and Mentoring.
• Kidney Knowledge Centre: providing specialised resources and information to manage kidney disease diagnosis and treatment.
