Our Red Socks Challenge for Kidney Health
As many of you know my mum, Michelle, was on dialysis for 8 years before receiving her miracle kidney. For 8 years, she spent 5 hours 3 times per week on a dialysis machine. This equates to ~2, 340 hours hooked onto a machine to keep her alive. Without dialysis, she would not be with us today. I am also doing it for the friends Mum made along the way who are either here with us today or have passed away from this invisible but cruel disease!!
People on dialysis spend around 60 hours every month connected to a machine.
This October, I have committed to the Red Socks Challenge, to stand with Australians living with kidney disease.
I will be taking on 60km in October to honour the hours spent on dialysis - raising awareness and helping fund better care.
Please donate to support a better future for people with kidney disease.
