Hot Girls Have Kidney Disease
Two girls. Two very complicated kidneys. And a whole lot of life still to figure out. 💜
We’re two young women in our 20s navigating life with chronic kidney disease — while also trying to do all the very normal 20-something things: figuring out who we are, building careers, making friends, falling in love, making questionable decisions, and generally trying to work out what the hell we’re doing with our lives.
Except CKD doesn’t exactly wait until you’ve got your life figured out.
It comes along for the ride — through appointments, medications, procedures, uncertainty, exhaustion and the moments where your body doesn’t quite cooperate with the life you want to live.
For many people on dialysis, around 60 hours every month are spent connected to a machine. This October, we’re taking on 60km as part of the Red Socks Challenge — a small way for us to honour those hours and stand alongside Australians living with kidney disease.
That’s why we’re fundraising.
We want to help raise awareness, support better care and create a better future for people living with kidney disease, particularly young people navigating the same confusing space of being young, but also chronically ill.
Because no one should have to feel alone while figuring out both.
Every donation, big or small, helps. So please donate to our team, share our fundraiser, or simply send some love our way. 💜
Two kidneys may be letting us down, but we’re still showing up — remaining hot, iconic and mildly chaotic while we figure it all out. 💅✨
Help us make every kilometre count. 🫶
