My Red Socks Challenge for Kidney Health
People on dialysis spend around 60 hours every month connected to a machine.
This October, I have committed to the Red Socks Challenge, to stand with Australians living with kidney disease.
I will be taking on 60km in October to honour the hours spent on dialysis - raising awareness and helping fund better care.
Please donate to support a better future for people with kidney disease.

My Updates
Raising awareness for kidney health
Monday 17th AugI have been undergoing dialysis treatment for just over four years while working full time and being a parent.
Going to hospital three times a week for dialysis is extremely difficult. Each treatment takes a significant amount of time and energy, and the physical and emotional impact can continue long after leaving the hospital. It can be exhausting trying to balance dialysis with work, family responsibilities and everyday life.
Dialysis is essential for keeping me alive, but it also takes a great deal out of me. It affects my routine, my energy and the time I can spend with my family. Despite these challenges, I continue to do my best to work, support my family and live my life.
That is why, every year, I raise money for kidney health and help spread awareness. I want people to understand how serious kidney disease can be and how deeply it can affect individuals and their families. I also want to encourage people not to ignore their kidney health.
Kidney disease can develop silently, so please speak with your doctor and ask to have your kidneys checked. Early detection may provide the opportunity to manage a problem before it becomes more serious.
Every donation, conversation and kidney health check can make a difference. My hope is that by sharing my experience, I can help raise awareness, support kidney research and encourage others to look after their kidneys.
