My Red Socks Challenge for Kidney Health
People on dialysis spend around 60 hours every month connected to a machine.
This October, I have committed to the Red Socks Challenge, to stand with Australians living with kidney disease.
I will be taking on 60km in October to honour the hours spent on dialysis - raising awareness and helping fund better care.
Please donate to support a better future for people with kidney disease.

My Updates
My Kidney Journey ❤️
Thursday 20th AugI was born with what doctors called a multi-cystic dysplastic kidney on my left side (which was non-functional) while my right kidney is enlarged and also has areas of reduced function. As an adult this remaining kidney was labeled as Polycystic.
When I was 5 years old, I had my left kidney removed through a retroperitoneal laparoscopic nephrectomy.
Growing up, I suffered from countless UTIs/Kidney infections and was hospitalised many times because of them. It became a normal part of my childhood and something I learned to live with and watch out for.
Now, as an adult, things have changed a little. Thankfully, I don’t tend to become seriously unwell from UTIs as often (except I did during my pregnancies with my kids, they hit me pretty hard then)
For most people, a UTI is just a UTI. For me, it has always been a little more complicated than that. Living with one functioning kidney has meant learning to listen to my body, take my health seriously and never take the good days for granted. I'm extremely grateful that my kidney has been able to carry me through my 30 years of life so far and I hope that it continues to do so for the rest of my years.
This is my story. ❤️
