My Red Socks Run for Kidney Health
This October, I’m showing up for every renal unit, every patient and moving towards a future without dialysis.
Dialysis sucks. To the point where people choose to stop and die rather than continue with it. I personally will never do it again, when my new kidney wears out.
My regional friends, the crisis is worse. I lived for 9 months in Perth in a sharehouse away from my supports, family, children, etc. Because we do not have enough units in the dialysis ward. I had to wait until someone passed away to get my spot. It's horrific.
I do not have kidney disease. My kidney failure was due to use of a very common medication. More people die annually from kidney failure than cancer. It's so common and so many are unaware.
Every dollar raised, every km logged, every step we take brings us closer to a future without dialysis.
Join me to honour the 60hrs a month someone spends on dialysis and together we can Move for them.
