My Red Socks Run Story: A Journey of Strength and Solidarity
Three years ago, I received the gift of life from my mom—a kidney transplant that changed everything. Before that, I lived with Chronic Kidney Disease, navigating the ups and downs of dialysis, fatigue, and uncertainty. It was a time of resilience, reflection, and deep gratitude for every moment.
The Red Socks Run is more than a race—it's a symbol of hope. I wear my red socks proudly to honor my mom, celebrate my transplant milestone, and stand beside those still waiting, those on dialysis, and everyone living with CKD. Every step I take is for the warriors who fight daily battles and for the families who never stop supporting them.
Running in October, during Kidney Health Awareness Month, reminds me how far I've come—and how far we still need to go. I run to raise awareness, to spark conversations, and to remind others that kidney disease doesn’t define us. We are strong, we are united, and we are never alone.
I’ll be running in my red socks — a symbol of courage and solidarity — to celebrate life after transplant and to remind others that kidney disease doesn’t define us. It’s a battle we fight together.
To those on dialysis, waiting for a transplant, or newly diagnosed with CKD: I see you. I run for you. Your strength inspires me every day. Keep going—there is hope, and there is a community that stands with you.
Please consider donating to my Red Socks Run fundraiser. Whether it’s $5 or $50, your support fuels hope, healing, and progress.
