My Red Socks Challenge for Kidney Health

People on dialysis spend around 60 hours every month connected to a machine.

This October, I have
committed to the Red Socks Challenge, to stand with Australians living with kidney disease.

I will be taking on 60km in October to honour the hours spent on dialysis - raising awareness and helping fund better care.

Please donate to support a better future for people with kidney disease.

Kidney Transplant Journey

Thursday 20th Aug
18 months ago, our family's life changed. My wife Bee was diagnosed with a Auto Immune Disease that was effecting her kidney. When we found out, her kidneys were operating at just over 12%. Within 3 weeks she was on home dyalisis, 8 hours a night, 7 days a week. Her life, our life was turned upside down. Bee handled everything in her stride, never complaining at any time. Her diet and lifestyle needed to change, so she changed. 18 months later, her kidneys were less than 3% and we didn't know how long she would have left. Then a random Friday morning, our phone rang. We had a kidney match the through the donor system. Bee is now 3 months post transplant, and doing amazingly. So now we want to help support others. By doing the Red Socks 60km challenge, this is a small way we can say thankyou to all thats supported us in our journey.
