My Red Socks Challenge for Kidney Health
People on dialysis spend around 60 hours every month connected to a machine.
This October, I have committed to the Red Socks Challenge to stand alongside Australians living with kidney disease. ❤️🧦
I’ll be taking on 60km throughout October to honour the hours spent on dialysis, while raising awareness and helping fund better care and support for people living with kidney disease.
For those who don’t know, H was diagnosed with kidney disease just over two years ago. Unfortunately, H is not alone. So many children and their families are affected by kidney disease, and it can have a huge impact on their lives.
For many people, kidney disease can be genetic. For H, it’s another consequence of the trauma he experienced at birth, along with the challenges he has faced with his bowels.
As a family, we know firsthand how much kidney disease can change your life, and we want to do our part to help make the future better for H and for so many other children and families facing the same journey.
Please consider donating and supporting me in the Red Socks Challenge. Every donation, no matter how big or small, helps support a better future for people living with kidney disease. ❤️
