2026 Red Socks Challenge Terms and conditions
I confirm that I am over the age of eighteen (18) years, or, if I am under the age of eighteen (18) years I have obtained permission to participate from my parent / guardian.
Risks and Voluntary Assumption of Risks
The Red Socks Challenge is a virtual challenge that participants complete at their own pace and in their own chosen environment. The challenge involves physical exercise, and participants should complete the challenge within the limits of their own physical fitness level. Certain risks or dangers may occur which may include, amongst others: injuries from falls, injuries from exertion, the effects of heat, cold, and dehydration, changing weather conditions and environmental dangers.
I acknowledge that the above is not an exhaustive list of all risks inherent in my participation in Red Socks Challenge. I further acknowledge that there may be risks that are not known or reasonably foreseeable at this time.
I understand that Kidney Health Australia recommends that the I consult a doctor before participating in Red Socks Challenge, particularly if I have ever experienced a heart condition, stroke, unexplained chest pains, faintness, dizziness, shortness of breath, severe asthma, diabetes, muscle, joint or bone problems or any other medical conditions that may make it dangerous to participate in Red Socks Challenge.
Regardless of whether I have consulted a doctor, I agree that by participating in the Red Socks Challenge, I am aware of the risks involved and I voluntarily assume those risks (including any arising from the negligence of Kidney Health Australia).
I warrant that the I have no known medical conditions or disabilities that may be incompatible with my safe participation in Red Socks Challenge. I warrant that I am in proper physical and mental condition to participate in Red Socks Challenge. I understand that Kidney Health Australia has obtained no personal accident insurance or any other insurance covering my participation in Red Socks Challenge and it is my responsibility to obtain any and all insurance which is appropriate for that purpose.
Release Waiver and Indemnity
I fully and irrevocably exclude and release Kidney Health Australia and all Red Socks Challenge sponsors, as well as their directors, officers, employees, volunteers, agents and representatives, from all liability for any loss, damage, cost or expense (whether in negligence, contract, under statute or otherwise) suffered by me as a consequence of my involvement in Red Socks Challenge, including in relation to death and personal injury.
Fundraising
I agree to ensure that any fundraising I undertake for Red Socks Challenge will follow the Kidney Health Australia Fundraising Guidelines and will comply with any relevant federal, state or local legislation. Kidney Health Australia reserves the right to withdraw your authority to fundraise at any time if your fundraising activities could harm the image or reputation of the Kidney Health Australia. If you wish to conduct additional fundraising activities other than receiving donations through the personal fundraising page provided, please contact us to arrange an authority to fundraise letter to cover your full fundraising activity. Collection donations and receipts. Any funds raised on you online page will automatically be transferred to Kidney Health Australia on the completion of your activity. You do not need to do anything to transfer the funds. All donations made on your online fundraising page will automatically be issued with a receipt. Donations of $2 and over are tax deductible.
Personal details
We will use your personal information for the purposes of the Event (including communicating with you and sending you information about the Event through various platforms including email, SMS, Facebook, Instagram and other social media platforms), re-marketing to you after the event, for other purposes explained in our Privacy Policy or as the law permits. You can unsubscribe or modify your preferences for how and when you are contacted at any time via the respective platform or by contacting Kidney Health Australia kidney.org.au/contact-us
Photographic consent
I acknowledge that in the course of Red Socks Challenge, photographs, images, film or audio recordings may be taken of me, either alone or with others. If I post photographs, images, film, audio recordings, text or artwork on social media, and share that content with Kidney Health Australia using hashtags or tag Kidney Health Australia in the post, I will ensure that I own the intellectual property in those items or have the permission of the owner of the intellectual property for Kidney Health Australia (and its assignees and licensees) to use such items.
I agree to Kidney Health Australia and its assignees and licensees using these photographs, images, film, audio recordings, text, or artwork (either complete or in part) for any purpose (including publicity, merchandising, editorial, education, fundraising) in any country and in any type of media without qualification (e.g. newspapers, magazines, social media, other print publications, radio and television broadcasts, websites, webinars, podcasts and vodcasts) and in perpetuity.
I agree to the use of my name in conjunction with any photographs, images, film or audio recordings of or quotes from me. I also agree that the photographs, images, film, audio recordings, text or artwork may be used by third party media organisations in connection with the reporting of Red Socks Challenge.
