My target 60 kms

My Red Socks Run for Kidney Health.

This October, I’m going to Red Socks Run like a life depends on it.

By running, walking or riding 60km I want to raise awareness of the 60hrs that kidney disease patients need to spend on dialysis each month.

Please donate to my page to raise funds for research into life-saving treatments, and provide support to the families of the 63 Australians that lose their life each day to kidney related diseases.

YOU can make a difference – Join me and help create a future where kidney health is a priority for all Australians.

My Updates

WE DID IT! 60 km done and dusted

Saturday 29th Oct
Thanks to our awesome PAH Kidney Team! Final Parkrun to hit the 60 km of running today and it feels pretty good 👍

Finish line in sight!

Thursday 27th Oct

Dark and Stormy

Tuesday 25th Oct
Another wet run to follow on from Saturday afternoon. I’m actually enjoying running in the rain! I have broken the 50 km (total) barrier now and just 2 more runs to get to 60 km. I might actually get there

20 km on the mountain bike at Daisy Hill

Sunday 16th Oct
Mountain biking today for 1:35 at Daisy Hill. Nice cool conditions but a pretty solid work out. Some right calf pain from running which will need a bit of rest for a couple of days then back into it!

New socks, new location!

Saturday 15th Oct
I got my indigenous themed red socks this week so decided to hit the trails in the local bush reserve for today’s run.

Morning run 13/10

Thursday 13th Oct
My pace has improved from 5:45 per km to 5:15 this morning - I might get to sub-5 by the end of the month! Almost half way to 60 km now

Evening Run

Tuesday 11th Oct
Did another 5.03 km in 27:32 including a long uphill section (elevation gain ~100m)

Almost halfway there!

Results for Parkrun#2, Oct 8

Monday 10th Oct
The results are in! This week Andrea came a fantastic 2nd place in her category and I came in 6th in mine in a field of 372 runners - an improvement on 13th last week for me. I still have some work to do!

Parkrun #2

Saturday 8th Oct
Second park run this morning at Stones Corner again. I had to push to keep up with my PAH Kidney Team member Andrea who was setting a blistering pace!

Too early for dogs!

Thursday 6th Oct
Another 5 km this morning at 5:45 pace which was a bit faster than Tuesday evening (7:01) Day off tomorrow then Sat morning park run again 🏃‍♂️💪👍

Day 4 - Evening Run

Tuesday 4th Oct
4.9 km in the neighbourhood this evening at an easy pace - 34 min

Day 2 - (Red) Mountain Biking

Sunday 2nd Oct
Got up early to try and beat the rain and hit the trails for a 16 km ride at Daisy Hill. Unfortunately the rain caught us. Plenty of mud and sliding around but great fun regardless.
Bike needed a good wash afterwards!
