We need all the encouragement we can get!
This October, we're going to attempt the Red Socks Run. Because it's meaningful to save lives feet first, and because we need to get away from working so hard behind our desks, as the best marketing team known to mankind, and get out into the sunshine. Or rain, since we live in Melbourne.
By running, walking or riding 60km we want to raise awareness of the 60hrs that people living with kidney failure need to spend on dialysis each month.
60hrs is basically every other day, for most of the day, ongoing. Travelling to the facility, getting connected up to the machine and sitting there waiting. It's draining (literally) and exhausting. Sometimes it means missing out on important family milestones. Dialysis keeps people alive but it's a time and freedom zapper.
