My Red Socks Challenge for Kidney Health
In 2025, I received a kidney transplant — a life-changing gift that gave me the opportunity to live a more normal life and experience things I once couldn’t take for granted.
One of those moments was finally being able to travel to Europe for my honeymoon. Being able to enjoy that experience, travel freely, and live life without dialysis was something I will always be incredibly grateful for.
But every day, Australians living with kidney disease continue to face an incredibly difficult reality. People on dialysis can spend around 60 hours every month connected to a dialysis machine just to stay alive.
This October, I’ve committed to the Red Socks Challenge to stand alongside Australians living with kidney disease.
I’ll be taking on 60km throughout October, with every kilometre representing the hours spent on dialysis.
I’m doing this to raise awareness, honour those who spend countless hours on dialysis, and help fund better care and support for people living with kidney disease.
