Matisse's Red Socks Run for Kidney Health
This October, I am participating in the Red Socks Run for Kidney Health, aiming to cover 60km to honour the challenges faced by those living with kidney disease.
Last August, my partner was diagnosed with kidney disease, which has impacted our entire family. Witnessing the challenges Declan faced and his braveness through it all has inspired me to push my own limits and demonstrate that determination can drive us to achieve anything.
By walking 60km, I want to shed light on the 60 hours each month that individuals with kidney disease spend undergoing dialysis.
Declan spends 10 hours everynight on peritoneal dialysis, whilst also working 12 hour shifts. Its truly amazing but also tiring. If i was walking 1km for every hour Declan was on dialysis, that would be 280kms for the month! Lets stick to 60kms.
This effort is not just about personal achievement but also about raising awareness and funds for crucial research into life-saving treatments and support for affected families.
Your support can make a real difference. Please consider donating to my page to help advance kidney health research and provide essential support to those battling kidney failure.
Together, we can contribute to meaningful change.
