My Red Socks Run for Kidney Health

This October, I’m going to Red Socks Run as life depends on it.

By running, walking, or riding 60km I want to raise awareness of the 60hrs that people affected by kidney disease need to spend on dialysis each month.

Please donate to my page to raise funds for research into life-saving treatments, and provide support to the families of the 66 Australians that lose their life each day to kidney disease.

YOU can make a difference – Join me and help create a future where kidney health is a priority for all Australians.

My Updates

Day..? This is the end......

Monday 30th Oct
OK so I busted past the kilometres goal fairly well, bunged in a fat 11km day, then got busted by a long work week.

Dropped a couple of 5k's on the weekend.

Towards the end of this caper I have been terribly inconsistent and need to work out how to do some exercise REGULARLY but this has been a great motivator to shift ass. Weight hasn't changed much but away from desk time is welcomed

Sincere thanks to those that have donated, I really wasn't expecting the fantastic response. Y'all are good units :)

Day 18 ish. Double donation day

Wednesday 18th Oct
Things have been time tight to get out, have past the target 60k’s but life has got in the road for enjoying some proper pain.

Any donations today are being matched, if you had an inkling to donate todays a great day for it

Day 15. Boop

Sunday 15th Oct
Huge few days, snuck in a cheeky 7k walk in the rain today. Sydney Friday, Colac Saturday, Richmond Saturday night then ambled around locally.

I think that’s the 60k’s target popped. I reckon I can get 120 before my legs collapse.

I think I’m eating to feed my newfound extreme athletic abilities and bunging weight on ?

Day 12, on tour

Friday 13th Oct
Snuck 7k wander in while visiting Sydney. I now understand how the world will end.

Something along the lines of people recording themselves wiggling and screeching for online action shots in front of famous landmarks while the world burns.

But hey! Check out my pics!

Day 11, wormicide

Wednesday 11th Oct
4K morning scoot around, glorious morning.

Strangely suicide worms were out in force on the concrete as the sun was rising. Not sure why. Fifth sign of the apocalypse.

Day 10, catch-up

Tuesday 10th Oct
Ok I lied, getting old and not doing hangovers right, snuck in a cheeky Sunday wander.

Vagued out Monday until the real test today of a 5am 5k twilight high stepper this morning.

What’s with clowns needing forehead mounted spotlights to ensure they don’t tread on their miniature teacup cavalabraciawahuadoodles. BBC DOES NOT APPROVE.

Betty’s all over the 5am out and about action, me not so much. I tried a cold shower.

Refreshing.

This week will be hard with work and travel.

May need a coffee enema.

Solid 6.5/10.

Day 7, 114.1 kegs have not died

Saturday 7th Oct
Slipped a neat 7.11 k’s in knowing full well tomorrow will be a day off ;)

5 k’s seems to be the magic number where fun ends and chafing starts.

Day 6, back

Friday 6th Oct
Early start, was slack yesterday so stumbled 8 ks. Got rained on

Betty delivered a number of new weight increments as well as discovered her new love of bunny chasing.

Damp, hints of fat man thigh chafe starting to appear. May need ointment. Solid 6.5/10, will do again.

Day 5, bad day

Thursday 5th Oct
Day 4 was a cracker of a 5 k shuffle for old spindles.

Today not so much, late work night and early start, couldn’t get myself out of bed in time to do a thing before the extra commute. Meh

Day three. Moist.

Tuesday 3rd Oct
Pre work is going to be a challenge, got a couple late days coming up.

Got out pre 7, even Betty was not gruntled about the rain situation. She indicated this by providing me some personalised weights to carry in the green shit bag of shame.

Also discovered, to my increasing delight she is petrified of umbrellas, and proceeded to behave like a kite in a gale when a couple wandered by with matching brollies.

Then it pissed down, soaking through my favorite “I love Jesus” top and novelty shorts. I may start an only fans for some of this smoking hot content.

Solid 6.5 out of 10

Day two, stupid places that hurt

Monday 2nd Oct
Post over reaching yesterday (going from sedentary to hike mode) most of the chassis is showing rust today.

Did a 5k around the creek, with a few Cliff young shuffles thrown in (spirit animal). BBC was well behaved but determined to check her messages all to often.

Day one, best ease into it (115.9kg)

Sunday 1st Oct
Thought I’d start easy with a 7k hike, ensuring I was appropriately prepared by staying up late, boofing a bottle of kraken the night before and hydrating with black coffee.

Pt Addis was crazy windy and Betty the Border Collie (BBC) was niggly but eventually settled down. Flies swarmed to the rum and coke sweat. Legs worked. No chafe yet. Still crusty. Solid 6.5/10.

Test hobble for fatty boomsticks

Saturday 30th Sep
3.3103 k’s around the local walking track. Didn’t die, may need a little lie down (Lld).
