Calling all Renal Units...
We want to invite your renal unit to take part in the Red Socks Renal Unit competition pitting unit against unit in the race to win the Red Socks Renal Unit Shield.
Who’s competing? We’re inviting renal units around Australia to form a team and fundraise with the aim to raise as much money as you can to fight kidney disease. Whoever raises the most money is the winning team.
What do we win? The one and only Red Socks Renal Shield, with your renal unit’s name engraved to proudly display in your unit until the 2023 Red Socks Run and a special morning tea hosted by Kidney Health Australia.
How do we fundraise?
- Organise a Socks Sale and raise vital funds through selling Kidney Health Red Socks. Register your unit to create a fundraising page and contact redsocks@kidney.org.au to receive your unique code to track your sales.
- Take on the Red Socks Run - whether it's the distance travelled or minutes moving, set your unit an acheivable challenge and encourage your community to sponsor them.
How long is the competition? The competition runs until 1 November, so we ask all fundraising to be finished by then. From that date, we will know who has raised the most money and will select the winner.
Our 2020 winners of the Red Socks Renal Shield
After winning the inaugural Big Red Kidney Shield in 2019, Epworth Eastern AKA the Epworth Kidney Beans, led by Nurse Unit Manager Amelia Flowers, did it again and raised an amazing $4,170 in 2020. They are the current holders of the Red Socks Renal Shield. Will you be the unit to claim the shield this year?
