Why 'Red Socks Run'?!
Tuesday 24th Sep I'm partaking in the Red Socks Run this October to raise much needed funds for Kidney Health Australia!I was first diagnosed with kidney disease in 2016 and over the past 7 years was managing it with diet and meds while living a semi-normal life - then in August 2023 I hit end-stage kidney failure. My whole life changed and I had no idea what the future held for me...
Now I complete dialysis treatment 3 days a week for 4 hours, this will be for the rest of my life! It is a big change and takes a lot of energy to go through this treatment, makes it a struggle to travel but thanks to Kidney Health Australia and the amazing work they do with the 'Big Red Kidney Bus' things might be a bit more normal for me moving forward.
Please donate if you can to this wonderful cause so that not only I can get the support or help needed but others like me and many more in the future can be cared for - cause Kidney Disease has no cure...
