My target 60 kms
My Red Socks Run for Kidney Health
This October, I’m going to walk or run 60km for the Red Socks Run for Kidney Health.
As many of you know me and many members of my family are living with a Kidney Disease. My mum was given the gift of life in 2014 and received a new kidney. However, unfortunately in 2021 this kidney rejected and she now joins the other 1450 Australians waiting for a kidney transplant and the 31,000 Australians living with kidney failure.
By running or walking 60km I want to raise awareness of the 60hrs that people affected by kidney disease averagely need to spend on HD dialysis each month. As my mum does a combination of HD & PD dialysis my mum spends almost 4 x that amount of hours per month hooked up to a dialysis machine.
Please donate to my page to raise funds for research into life-saving treatments, and provide support to the families of the 66 Australians that lose their life each day to kidney disease.

WE DID IT!!
Saturday 4th NovA HUGE thank you to everyone who donated to my #redsocksrun fundraiser for #kidneyhealth, together we have crushed my $500 fundraising goal and raised $1232!
Although October didn’t quite go to plan, I have managed to complete 61km as I promised! A special thank you to my amazing husband Andrew who offered to finish off my last 15km when my physio requested that I stop due to injury!
Thank you all again, your support has been very much appreciated and has not gone unnoticed! xoxo

UPDATE!
Friday 27th OctHey everyone,
I just wanted to give all that have supported me an update.
Due to my glute, back and hip injury and on the advice of my physio I will not be able to complete all the remaining KMs of this fundraiser. I am hoping to still complete another couple of KMs within my rehab but defiantly can not do the whole remaining required on my own!
However, my AMAZING husband has offered to complete any KM I am unable to do, so that I can achieve my 60km I promised!
I also pledge to donate $10 for every KM I am unable to do and Andrew does on my behalf!
I thank everyone again that has donated so far, I’m sorry I am unable to deliver what I originally pledged but I promise the 60km will be achieved just with a little help!
